Waterproofing of Guest Wing Slab
The additional cost of all these levels of protection are insignificant at this stage, if there were ever to be a leak the cost of rectification work would run into the tens of thousands of pounds.
When the large 300mm thick concrete Hanson slabs were laid onto the roof of our major guest wing level, we poured further 100mm of waterproof concrete (containing Compact Civil ALL), sprayed it with a black Elasto-Cover PU which is an inexpensive product from Cre-art, my father in law used a spray gun to apply the product to the 270 square metre area. After this and as a extra special, we applied a Mapei Elastic membrane with a glass reinforced sheet to all for any movement of the concrete slab, we allowed this to sit then painted teh whole are again with an epoxy RIW tough seal for a final waterproofing. The additional cost of all these levels of protection are insignificant at this stage, if there were ever to be a leak the cost of rectification work would run into the tens of thousands of pounds.
